Italian Summer

There are many favourable adjectives that can be assigned to the various cities in Europe—words such as magnificent, classical, avant-garde, serene, solemn... Those who describe these cities are reluctant to stick to just one word due to the overlap of culture, leading to contention.

But there’s one word that if one city calls themselves second, no one would dare call themselves first. Let it be reserved for the place where all roads lead to, a city with a historical significance comparable to the oldest civilizations.

This word is "great," and that city is Rome.

In today's world, there is a rising tide of tourism, and people are rushing to the roads. Just take a look at the train stations, docks, and airports—how many people are there on official business? Modern communication allows most political and business matters to be conducted without the need for personal presence. However, the one thing that requires personal presence, where devices and others cannot substitute, is tourism.

Among the preferred destinations for world travelers, one of them is Venice.

Firstly, despite being in the modern era, Venice is surprisingly free from the hustle and bustle of cars and horses. All transportation relies on boats and walking, so its urban network consists of a spiderweb of canals and alleys. While other cities may also be built on water, none are as pure in their essence as Venice. For many travelers from around the world, wandering through the canals and alleys of Venice is like stepping into a dream from their childhood.
